Redshirt sophomore Divaad Wilson is set to transfer from UGA, Wilson announced on Monday via his Twitter account.

Divaad Wilson, a 6-foot, 195-pound defensive back out of Miami, Fla., played in 13 games for the Georgia Bulldogs in 2019. He recorded 24 total tackles (18 solo, six assisted), one tackle for loss, and one interception.

Wilson is likely transferring due to the novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, as he noted in his statement that he wanted to be “closer to home during this time.”

Georgia is currently scheduled to open the 2020 season on Monday, Sept. 7 (Labor Day) against the Virginia Cavaliers in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Ga. The schedule is subject to change due to COVID-19.
