The Arkansas Razorbacks and Mississippi State Bulldogs have been added to the 2020 UGA football schedule, the SEC announced on Friday.

Due to the novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, the SEC will play a 10-game schedule in 2020 with conference opponents only. All of Georgia’s non-conference games have been canceled, including Virginia in Atlanta, Ga., and ETSU, ULM, and Georgia Tech, all in Athens.

Georgia will keep their original eight SEC opponents in 2020. The Bulldogs are scheduled to host Auburn, Florida (in Jacksonville, Fla.), Tennessee, and Vanderbilt. Road opponents include Alabama, Kentucky, Missouri, and South Carolina.

The newly added contests at home against Mississippi State and at Arkansas round out Georgia’s 10-game SEC slate for 2020.

“We made every effort to create a schedule that is as competitive as possible and builds on the existing eight Conference games that had already been scheduled for 2020,” said SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey. “This schedule is a one-year anomaly that we have developed under unique circumstances presented by the impact of COVID-19.”

Dates for the 2020 UGA football schedule have not been announced yet and all previous dates have been scrapped. A revised 2020 SEC football schedule is expected to be announced in the next two weeks.

The 2020 SEC Football Championship Game has been pushed back two weeks and will now be played on Saturday, Dec. 19 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Ga. The 2020 SEC football schedule will also include one mid-season open date and an open date on Dec. 12 for all 14 schools.
