The Georgia Bulldogs have added the ETSU Buccaneers and the George Mason Patriots to their 2021-22 basketball schedule, according to reports this week.

Georgia will host ETSU at Stegeman Coliseum on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2021, according to a report by the Johnson City Press. ETSU, a member of the Southern Conference (SoCon), is led by head coach Desmond Oliver, who was an assistant at UGA from 2004 through 2009.

Georgia and ETSU first met during the 1960-61 season and have played four times overall. The Bulldogs won the most recent contest during the 2012-13 season, 54-38, which evened the overall series at two games apiece.

The George Mason Patriots will travel to take on the Bulldogs at Stegeman Coliseum on Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021, per a report from The D1 Docket. The game will mark the first-ever meeting between the two schools in basketball and George Mason will receive a $70,000 guarantee.

George Mason is a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference. The Patriots finished the 2020-21 season 13-9 overall and 8-6 in conference action.

In other non-conference action this season, Georgia is scheduled to play at the Cincinnati Bearcats on Saturday, Nov. 13 and host the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Friday, Nov. 19.

The Hoop Dawgs are also scheduled to compete in the 2021 Legends Classic at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., on Monday, Nov. 22 and Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2021. Other teams in that tournament include Virginia, Providence, and Northwestern.

Georgia’s SEC opponents for the 2021-22 season have not yet been announced. The Bulldogs will play their permanent opponents — Auburn, Florida, and South Carolina — in home-and-home series. UGA will also play the remaining 10 SEC teams as well as two additional teams a second time.
