Georgia remains first in College Football Playoff Rankings for Week 12

The Georgia Bulldogs have remained first in the College Football Playoff Rankings for Week 12 of the 2021 season released Tuesday evening by the CFP Selection Committee.

Georgia (10-0, 8-0 SEC) is again followed by Alabama (2), Oregon (3), Ohio State (4), and Cincinnati (5).

The Bulldogs have beaten one team that is currently ranked in the latest College Football Playoff rankings — Arkansas is No. 21. Auburn was ranked 17th last week but fell out of the rankings following a 43-34 loss to Mississippi State.

The Bulldogs also remain atop the AP Poll and USA TODAY Sports AFCA Coaches Poll for the sixth consecutive week.

Georgia’s next game is at home against the Charleston Southern Buccaneers on Saturday, Nov. 20 at Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Ga. The game will be streamed live by the SEC Network+ and ESPN+ at noon ET.

The College Football Playoff Selection Committee will release their Top 25 rankings each week on Tuesday through Nov. 30. Below is the schedule of dates (all times Eastern):

  • Tuesday, Nov. 23 – 7:00pm ET
  • Tuesday, Nov. 30 – 7:00pm ET
  • Sunday, Dec. 5 – Noon ET (Selection Day)

On Sunday, Dec. 5 at Noon ET, the College Football Playoff Selection Committee will announce the Playoff Semifinal pairings and semifinal bowl assignments. Those will be followed by the pairings for the remainder of the New Year’s Six bowl games.
