Legends ClassicLast month, we broke the news that the Georgia Bulldogs will participate in the 2012 Legends Classic in Brooklyn, New York. Today the AP has reported that Georgetown, Indiana and UCLA will be the other host teams.

Georgia is 1-1 all-time against the Georgetown Hoyas, 0-3 against the Indiana Hoosiers and 0-2 against the UCLA Bruins.

The brand new Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York will host the championship rounds on November 19-20, 2012. The arena, the future home of the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets, will seat 18,103 for basketball and is scheduled to open on September 28, 2012.

The format of the tournament resembles the CBE Classic. Georgia is one of the four “host” schools and will play two games in Athens against teams from the travel pool between Nov. 11 and Nov. 15, 2012.

Georgia, Georgetown, Indiana and UCLA will then advance to play in the semifinals and championship/consolation game at Barclays Center (Nov. 19-20; televised by ESPN networks).

The rest of the tournament field and the semifinal bracket will be announced at a later date.
